Michael Uslan

MICHAEL USLAN is the Originator and Executive Producer of the Batman movie franchise from 1989’s revolutionary Batman through The Dark Knight Trilogy, to the upcoming film Joker: Folie A Deux and The Batman, Part 2.

From his start teaching the world’s first ever accredited college course on comic books and writing Batman comics while still a student, to his memoir, The Boy Who Loved Batman, now being produced as a Broadway-bound play by Nederlander Worldwide, Uslan has enjoyed the career of his dreams. He presents his acclaimed TEDTalk at comic book conventions, universities and business conferences around the world, thrilling the fans who embrace him as one of their own who rose up to spend his life restoring the darkness and dignity to their mutually beloved Batman.

An Emmy Award winner whose films have garnered Oscars and other international awards, and Chairman of The New Jersey Film Commission, Uslan’s commencement address at Indiana University has been hailed as one of the ten best of all time by USA Today and by NPR as one of the 350 best commencement speeches in the United States since 1774.

Asa Somers

ASA SOMERS is a New York City-based writer and performer who grew up on Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, and graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and Yale University.  Asa wrote the libretto for the Duck Dynasty musical, based on the reality series from A+E Network, which received a first-class production in Las Vegas in 2015. Directed by Tony-nominated Jeff Calhoun and produced by multiple Tony-winning Dodger Theatricals and music-industry legend Tommy Mottola, the show received near universal acclaim. As a performer, Asa is well-known to New York audiences, having appeared in seven Broadway shows. He is currently in Water for Elephants. Previously, he was in Dear Evan Hansen  and starred on Broadway in the Tony and Pulitzer-winning musical Next to Normal, reprising the role opposite Alice Ripley in the First National Tour (Seattle Theater Award for Best Actor). Asa played the title role in the original NYC and San Francisco productions of Hedwig and the Angry Inch; starred in Dallas Theater Center’s production of Fly by Night (Dallas Column Award nomination) and the off-Broadway musical Once Around the Sun; and has appeared on TV in over a dozen shows, among them Billions, Mr. Robot, and Gossip Girl.
